Regular batteries should work in a digital camera right?

Question by Jeff M: Regular batteries should work in a digital camera right?
My mom's girlfriend gave us her old digital camera it's like 2 years nothing wrong with it, but it didn't turn on. I went and bought new batteries but it still wasn't working. The old batteries inside of it said digital camera batteries. This might sound stupid, but there is no difference between the 2 right?

Should I bring a digital camera to a foreign country?

Question by kikula: Should I bring a digital camera to a foreign country?
I'm planning on staying my summer (between 6 and 8 weeks) in Poland with some of my family. Usually, I bring a normal camera with film and what not but it's always a hassle getting the pictures developed. I want to bring my digital camera with me so I can take pictures. The camera is battery powered and I will have limited access to my uncle's computer, but I won't be able to upload the pictures I don't think. Any tips or ideas for bringing the digital camera or is just a bad idea?

Just get a bigger memory chip and an adaptor for your battery recharger.

When should I buy a digital camera?

Question by appy: When should I buy a digital camera?
I have heard that there will be cheap sales of electronic goods around the thanksgiving time. I am planning to buy a point and shoot digital camera. I was wondering what sites I should start looking (bestbuy or something) As of now I don't see cams that cheap (As people generally claim it will be). What digital camera should I get?

Question by ASGopt: What digital camera should I get?
I want to buy a digital camera, but I'm not sure which I should get.

I've heard good things about Canon but there are various types...

I'm looking for something decently prized, decent flash so that pics can be taken at night, decent zoom. I'm planning on using it to just take regular photos, nothing fancy. I also don't like cameras that take blurry pictures or pictures so sharp the people look scary.

Any suggestions?

What kind of scuba/underwater digital camera should I buy for a trip to Key West?

if you have a point and shoot, many companies make watertight housings for that, and they are pretty cheap compared to the dslr housings. there are even universal bags with a lens port to use that are decent. if you have the money and want to continue this hobby (which can be very rewarding and profitable) look at sea and sea brands. they have great gear and decent prices. good luck.

What kind of digital camera should I buy?

Question by нєℓℓσ кιтту вαву: What kind of digital camera should I buy?
I have a digital camera right now, but i want to upgrade. It doesnt have sound when you listen to videos, you have to change the battery every day if you use it for a long time, and its really slow when you take pictures. I want something in pink or purple. It has to have a good battery life, and be able to record videos. Price doesnt matter. Thanks!!

How should an external flash be sincronised to a digital camera?

Question by John S: How should an external flash be sincronised to a digital camera?
I am using a basic digital camera but want to use an external flash. If I fire the flash the same time as the shutter the camera does not see the flash, What delay should I have for it to see the flash?

Best answer:

Answer by c.dude
When you say basic digital camera I am assuming its a point and shoot.

a point and shoot does a pre-flash either to reduce red eye or to meter ( for automatic settings)

to use an external flash you need to set the camera's flash in manual mode such that it fires only once
and set the external flash to optical slave mode so that it sees a flash go and fires at the same time.

most DSLR's have a sync speed of 1/250 i.e. shutter speed has to be slower than 1/250th of a second
however the point and shoot camera's have a leaf shutter and are able to sync faster than that.

what you need to do is find that manual flash mode

What digital camera should I ask for Christmas?

Question by Mr. Sam: What digital camera should I ask for Christmas?
I decided this Christmas that I want a new digital camera. Basically, price is not a problem, but I want high quality pictures and possibly movies. I'm looking for a camera that's relatively small & boxy. Not a big odd shaped camera. If I were to choose a color, it would be black. Now, I know that Canon Rebels take superb quality pictures, but I'm looking for a little digital camera that I can carry around, and isn't a hassle, like the rebel. So, a digital camera, relatively small, boxy, and black. Any suggestions? 10 points to best answer!

am looking to buy a very good professional digital camera. I have been thinking of taking up photography as a hobby. Mostly photos of my childrens lives, family events, etc. Yet I have no clue as to what kind of camera is best for what I want to do. I was thinking of going for Nikon, Cannon or possibly a Sony one. I am also looking to spend between $ 500 - $ 700. I want it to be versatile and durable, because I am not sure if I will be able to afford another one any time soon. Thanks in advance.

What kind of digital camera should I get?

Question by Starry_Nite_Dreamz: What kind of digital camera should I get?
I'm looking to buy a new digital camera because my old Polaroid one, which is just over a year old, is showing pink spots and it costs more to fix it than to buy a new camera. I want a good camera that will last me a while and will cost under 110 dollars. I'm not sure which brand and model to buy. If you guys have any recommendations, please list them here and as to why you would recommend it. Thanks a lot!
Any links would help as well. Thanks!

check lenses (i suggest carl zeiss or any nikon) and blur reduction. also make sure it has all the features you'd be interested in. personally, i like nikon best, but have used canons and they are not a disappointment.

What should I be looking for in a digital camera?

Question by xxo.nicole: What should I be looking for in a digital camera?
I am looking to buy a digital camera. I am willing to spend around $ 300-$ 350. I have to research before I can spend that much so I know exactly what I am buying.

Some of the things I know I should look for are:
- Megapixel (the more the better??)
- Optical or digital zoom
- Screen size.. or type ?

And.. thats it. And I know there is ALOT more that I should be considering.

Best answer:

Answer by abaer01
Good...and for that price you should get image stabilization which helps to reduce blurry pictures. Then decide if you want something real small to go into your purse or something larger that will have it's own case. Your set!
