A lot of digital cameras take high quality pictures when you have the flash on but doesn't take good pictures when the flash is off. Is there a digital camera out there that takes good pictures whether or not the flash is on? Thanks.

Go to Best Buy and tell them your price range. For 200 you can get a decent 6.0 MP camera. i go with a Sony or Nikon for the $ 200 range

I have a sony digital camera and a 16 month old daughter. I always try to snap that cute thing she is doing or that perfect funny face she makes but by the time the camera actually takes the picture, the shot is gone. Either that or the long flash distracts her too much and she moves. Are there any cameras that will take the shot as soon as you push the button without any delays?

You are suffering from what's known as shutter lag. EVERY digi point & shoot I have ever owned has it. I missed a bunch of good shots; drove me crazy.


I bought a dSLR and now rarely miss a shot. Virtually no shutter lag and you can use faster lenses on it. Faster lenses mean you are less dependent on the flash to get a good shot in low light.

I'm looking to buy a new digital camera because my old Polaroid one, which is just over a year old, is showing pink spots and it costs more to fix it than to buy a new camera. I want a good camera that will last me a while and will cost under 110 dollars. I'm not sure which brand and model to buy. We are looking to purchase a digital camera to use in taking photographs of wildlife on our Alaskan vacation this summer. We currently have point and shoot digital cameras but are thinking we should probably get a digital SLR with a telephoto lens. Ease of use would be helpful as we would be novices with this type of camera. Cost is not really an issue as we are looking at this as a once in a lifetime trip and want to make sure we have photos to preserve it. There is no specialty camera store anywhere near where we live so any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Get a D300

70-300mm lens as well.
