Question by paul.sanjay: Other than megapixels what should I check for when buying a digital camera?
What are the points to check when buying a digital camera? What are the usual problems one faces with such cameras?

Is going for Canon or Nikon a safe bet?

check lenses (i suggest carl zeiss or any nikon) and blur reduction. also make sure it has all the features you'd be interested in. personally, i like nikon best, but have used canons and they are not a disappointment.
