Orion 2" Dual-Speed Crayford Refractor Telescope Focuser

Orion 2
  • Give your Orion refractor telescope a smooth dual-speed focus adjustment upgrade!
  • Crayford-style focuser provides smooth roller bearing motion without image shift or backlash
  • 11:1 fine focus ratio allows minute focus adjustments to provide crisp, detailed views
  • Precision drop-in replacement for standard focusers on many Orion refractor telescopes
  • Accepts both 2" and 1.25" eyepieces, diagonals, and telescope accessories

The Orion 2-inch Dual-Speed Crayford Refractor Focuser provides a simple, yet profound performance upgrade for your favorite Orion refractor telescope. The high-quality design adds fine focus adjustment ability with a ratio of 11:1 to your refractor. Eleven turns of the fine focus knob equals one rotation of the coarse adjustment knobs, allowing you to view even the most complex targets with acute precision. You'll be amazed at how much detail can be coaxed out of celestial and terrestrial targets with the addition of fine-focus control. Crayford style focusers offer smooth, backlash free focus adjustment by virtue of their gear-free design. Friction applied between the focus adjustment axle and a flat surface on the focus drawtube keep focus adjustments precise and accurate. The Crayford style design virtually eliminates focus errors related to backlash and flexure. Since the amount of applied friction is adjustable, even relatively heavy visual or imaging accessories can be used with the 2-inch dual-speed Crayford Refractor focuser with optimal results. The focuser features a built-in dovetail finder scope base for use with any Orion reflex sight or finder scope, and includes a 2-inch to 1.25-inch adapter for use of 1.25-inch diagonals, eyepieces, and accessories. Attaching the focuser to your Orion refractor is simple, and thorough installation instructions are included.

2" Orion Refractor Telescope Mirror Diagonal

2" Orion Refractor Telescope Mirror Diagonal

2
  • Mirror diagonal with a 90 degrees design features polished optics to yield maximum performance of big 2" telescope eyepieces
  • 2" diagonal for use with refractor telescopes
  • Accepts 2" eyepieces and includes 1.25" eyepiece adapter for use with smaller 1.25" eyepieces and accessories
  • Fits 2" focusers on refractor telescopes
  • A convenient accessory for switching between large 2" and 1.25" eyepieces when viewing with a refractor telescope

Many observers prefer to use a good-quality mirror diagonal instead of a prism diagonal with high-end telescope systems. The mirror in these 90-deg diagonals are meticulously polished to yield maximum performance. Housings are made of black-anodized aluminum. Barrels are internally blackened. Each 2" diagonal accepts both 2" and 1.25" eyepieces (with included adapter). The 2" eyepiece holder as two locking setscrews for maximum eyepiece security. These diagonals render images that are right-side up and reversed left to right (therefore, not recommended for terrestrial observing). Diagonals are not recommended for use in reflector telescopes.

2" Orion SkyGlow Broadband Eyepiece Filter

2
  • The SkyGlow filter enhances deep-sky observing in moderately light-polluted skies
  • 2" eyepiece filter blocks the most common wavelengths of light pollution for increased contrast and better view quality
  • SkyGlow improves the views of nebulas, galaxies and star clusters, especially when viewing in areas with light pollution from streetlights and sources
  • Ideal for backyard astronomy oberving when you don't have time to trek to a dark sky site
  • 2" filter designed for use with 2" telescope eyepieces. Metal filter cell construction.

Our SkyGlow is an advanced multilayer interference filter designed to enhance deep-sky observing in moderately light-polluted skies. It blocks the most common wavelengths of light pollution - predominantly produced by mercury vapor lamps - and allows higher transmission of critical hydrogen-alpha and hydrogen-beta lines. Bright, light-polluted skies appear much darker in the field of view and contrast significantly enhanced, particularly emission nebulas like the Orion and Lagoon. Views of galaxies and clusters are also improved.

Telescope Camera Adapter - 2" UltraWide for all Nikon DSLR models

Telescope Camera Adapter - 2
  • Direct from Camera body to 2" Eyepiece Port.
  • Bypasses T-Rings for 10mm Larger Clear Aperture!
  • Reduced Vignetting, Lower Profile & Weight.
  • Threaded for Standard 2" Eyepiece Filters (48mm).
  • Fully Baffled to reduce internal reflections.

Just say NO to T-Rings!

As the CCD chips in our DSLR cameras get larger it is ever more important to have an unobstructed light path to prevent vignetting. The manufacturers of high end scopes wisely put 2" eyepiece ports on them. Why then do we insist on putting a 1.5" bottleneck between your camera and telescope?

Answer:
T-Rings have been around for decades, a legacy standard as outdated as 300 baud modems. They exist not because they are the best solution for imaging, but because they are the best solution for manufacturing. After all it's much easier to spin a standard thread on all adapters, regardless of telescope port size or camera brand. The T-Ring may be convenient but it is simply out of its league on a scope with a 2" eyepiece port.

True-2TM is a true 2" prime focus adapter that takes you directly from the cameras bayonet mount to a 2" Barrel with as few wasted photons as is possible, adding as much as 10mm more clear aperture over legacy adapters! The largest clear aperture of any adapter on the market. And it costs little more than you would spend on a quality T-Ring and 2" T-adapter. Baffled to reduce reflections and threaded for 2" eyepiece filters. Now also available with or without an undercut on the barrel. Don't choke the photons out of your camera with an inferior adapter!
