The Matthews Open End Scrim is a ColorNETT Single Silver 18 inch x 24 inch / 45.7 cm x 61 cm scrim, that will slightly raise the Kelvin temperature of your light source. The frame is made of spring steel, with a 3/8" pin and support which can be used to hang the scrim from a "C" Stand handle while not being used. The 2 upright arms of the frame are slotted at the 2 open ends for retaining the piano wire that is woven through the fabric, for making up the 4th side of the frame without causing a shadow. The Open end scrims are used for controlling or manipulating light falling on specific areas of the set or subject. They can be used foer altering light without creating a noticeable edge. Arri makes four different types of scrims.

Full single- this scrim covers the entire lightface and reduces the intensity of the entire light beam.

Full double - this scrim covers the whole face of the light. It has two metal screens in it, reducing light intensity by two times the amount of the full single.

Half single - this scrim only covers half of the lightface reducing half of the light beams intensity.

Half double - same as the half single but reduces light intensity twice as much as the half single.
