How do I make my digital camera photos look like a pro took them?
How do I make my digital camera photos look like a pro took them?
Im reading people doing it online by reflecting light with mirrors and editing them. But how would you do that?

The easy way would be to hand your camera to a pro. The hard way is the way you need to take though. Take classes and learn!

Is it cool for guys to carry a digital camera around?
I got a digital camera for christmas and my blackberry doesn't have a camera built in. I usually see girls at school with digital cameras not guys. Help?

Answer by Chuck Le Dust
Well, it depends. What do you like to do? Look cool, have an accessory or take pictures? Many guys have digital cameras. If you don't like it, sell it. Can't see any problem with it myself.

What digital camera drains the least battery power?
I am looking for a new digital camera. My only requirement is that the camera does not kill your batteries so quickly. I have a Samsung 5.0, that stupid camera is terrible. I take like 6 pics, and the batteries are dead. Then I had to recharge them again. I hate walking around with chargers and with 3 pairs of different batteries. And if I use regular batteries, they died even sooner

I have a digital rebel XT. It's an 8mp DSLR. I can take well over 300 shots on one charge and it charges real fast too. The only thing is that I use an external flash, which helps conserve the camera's battery. The picture quality is excellent though. Very happy with it. Like Dr Sam mentioned. IT's the LCD viewer people use that drains the batteries too.

Samsung Galaxy Digital Camera Review - CES 2013
Why do I look ugly in digital camera pictures, but I look pretty in disposable camera pictures?
When I use to take pictures with disposable cameras, I would look good, even pretty, However now that I have a digital camera, I am unable to take a nice picture. I look gross in these pictures, I don't look like this in real life. My eyes don't look the way they look in real life, especially. I hate it. I am thinking of buying a disposable camera to take picutres of me and leaving the digital camera to take pictures of others and of landscape.
Anyone know why this is the reason, or does anyone have the same experience?

Answer by KNDChicago
Unfortunately the digital camera captures us the way others see us.
The reason you looked different in photos from a disposable camera is the lens. Fixed focus set to infinity and made of plastic. If you enlarge those photos youll notice nothing is really in focus. This produces a "soft" image which some would find more pleasing.
Your digital camera has adjustable focus and a glass lens. Even cheap digital camera have much better optics than a disposable camera. It captures all our flaws much better than the disposables.
Some people complained when HD TV first came out. The resolution was so good and captured so much detail zits and imperfections on actors faces became prominent. With analog TV and CRT displays those flaws went unnoticed.
Welcome to the digital age.

What kind of digital camera do you have?
I don't really know anything about digital cameras but I want to buy one. What are the cameras called, that are not digital, just "normal" ones? I used to like those better because the quality seemed to much more professional. The lighting seemed warmer, colors seemed brighter. On digital cameras it seems that everything looks paler, etc. Is it just me? I wanted a digital camera that had those qualities to it, with a good price, if possible. What kind of digital camera do you have?

I have a few but I love my Nikon D40; the price is great, it's small and light for a DSLR and, takes great photographs.

How do you clean the contacts on a digital camera?
My digital camera sounds like it will turn on, but immediately powers down. I think I need to clean the contacts. I have bought new batteries and that doesn't help.

Camera reports batteries low, but is it low charge or bad electrical contacts? Overcharging can ruin good batteries! The secret to making digital cameras work better is having good electrical contacts between batteries and camera.
Digital cameras require lots of power. Bad electrical contacts can cause lots of problems so battery and camera contacts must be cleaned properly. Batteries may be fully charged, but will be viewed as low if contacts are not really good. The LCD screen is a low steady load, but when lens extension, optical zoom, focus, and flash charging are added in the capture mode; the load is very heavy. Bad contacts make cameras do strange things like making bad pictures or shutting off with the lens out.
CAUTION Do not overcharge! Batteries can be severely damaged. Use an automatic two or more hour Energizer Compact smart charger with safety timer, temperature monitor, and trickle charge technology ($ 9.76) at Walmart. For longer life, use Duracell 2000mAh batteries and a full cycle charge monthly. Ray O Vac 2100mAh batteries are half the price and may do just as well, but have not tried them. To preserve battery charge, use the view finder and not the LCD screen when possible.
Never touch battery ends or camera electrical contacts. Oil from fingers will contaminate contacts. Use batteries in matched pairs of same brand and rating. Do not mix old and new batteries. New will only do as well as old.
NiMH batteries should be recharged before using in digital cameras after two weeks. Old batteries can discharge over night, but may provide near normal service immediately after being charged. Battery pairs no longer usable in cameras may work well in flashlights. Do not drop batteries on a hard surface or allow voltage below one volt as this could result in polarity reversal.
Digital cameras reset to original settings if batteries are removed for one minute. Time varies with function/camera. Check display/setup menu for non-auto functions and date/time. Remove extra memory to eliminate this as a possible problem. Insert fully charged/cleaned batteries and restart camera. The ultimate non-physical repair for software-using devices is reset by removing power ... VCR/DVD players one month.
